7000 Bracelets for Hope.

In Lori's words:

To join the hop, you need to make ONE bracelet in an adult size in a denim/blue jeans-inspired theme.  Basically, any blue bead will do!  The bracelets will be sent to  The Global Genes Project, an advocacy group who launched "7000 Bracelets for Hope", a children's rare disease campaign.  The bracelets are given to one of 7000 families having children with rare diseases to show them love and support.

I finally embellished some of my paper beads. Unfortunately the pictures didn't turn out very well. I used a metallic copper thread and a light green shimmer paint on some of the beads.

There are a few other projects I have been working on and hope to share here going forward. Until then...here's a few pictures that I did get taken of the paper beads.

Bead Table Wednesday

Hi everyone!  I didn't get very far on embellishing my paper beads or writing my instructions for that matter.  I did however come to the conclusion that more commitment needs to be made to my blog. I'm going to make that a challenge to myself to blog more often.  Maybe start sharing more thoughts, etc.  Until then...here is how far I've gotten on creating some paper beads.

I didn't get as far as I wanted to with my paper beads. My bead table changed very little from last week though I'm hoping I can get some more time to create some beads this weekend. Until then the ones in this picture are the foundation of what will be embellished beads. I'll use the copper colored thread, along some other material I'm not sure what that will be yet.  I've been looking around for some materials to use, I think maybe it's time for a treasure hunt trip...those are always fun!

On my bead table this week is a project for some paper beads.  A Valentine project is in the works. I'll take pictures as I make the paper beads and get those instructions up here soon.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my blog for the 

Fusion Bead Challenge and for the wonderful comments!  

I'm hoping in the future to show some of my paper beads here. Along with that I have an Art Journaling/Jewelry Design class to put together that I am teaching this summer, which includes basic instruction for the beads. I'm thinking I might put some of the  paper bead instructions on my blog also if there is an interest. They are fairly easy to make, embellishing them is a big part of the fun! If you would like to see some "how to" here please let me know and when I get started on getting my class together (hopefully within the next couple of months) I'll list some instructions then too.

This year has started out to be super busy.  I haven't made it out to the blog much, though I am looking forward to being here more in the future.  On to the challenge...

The necklace I made I used the Owl clasp from Green Girl Studios.  I added some ribbon along with the green leather cord and ran that through the beads I create. The beads I make are embellished paper beads (hopefully I will be posting more on these in the future.)  As in the other challenges I used seed beads, one of my favorite beads to work with and I also added a few wooden beads.
